Every year I say I’m going to participate in NaNoWriMo and every year that pledge lasts maybe a day. I’m one of those writers whose OCD makes it so I have to have everything just right before I can write. Well, that’s just not going to happen….ever.

This year, fuck it. I’m just going to do it. I have an idea, the setting, and a heroine. I’ve typically always been a planner, outlining my story, knowing what will happen and when. This year, well, October got away from me. But instead of using it as an excuse, I’m just going start writing. Will it be the best thing I’ve ever written, God no! But it will be a start of something I can mold, edit, and accomplish.

Here’s the 31 October 2019 synopsis (can’t wait to see how this changes):

Lacey Cooper is a professional house sitter. When her aunt dies, Lacey inherits the house, located in a small, quaint Pacific Northwest coastal town. Knowing she’ll only be in town long enough to sell the house, Lacey’s plan is shockingly interrupted when she finds a dead body in her aunts chest freezer. Now the attractive yet obstinate town detective believes Lacey’s dead aunt was the killer. Lacey finds her plans waylaid as she decides to do her own investigation to clear her aunt’s name.

Let the writing begin!
